The beef herd is Aberdeen Angus single suckler
producing top quality cuts of beef renowned for its tenderness, Cattle are kept
traditionally out in the fields Spring, Summer and Autumn and indoors in the
Winter being fed silage and straw.
The pig herd is Landrace Large White x Duroc. The
introduction of the Duroc gives excellent eating quality. The Landrace Large
White sows are bred with Duroc boars to give the high quality pork product that
we produce today. All pigs are kept in family groups and kept on straw and
reared in deep straw yards.
Presently
at Sycamore Farm we are in the process of re-introducing
the
traditional breed of British Saddleback.
We
hope to be able to offer meat from this breed in the future.
